A girl

Came through this beautiful poem some time back.....Made a few changes....

I am a daughter, A sister,
A grandaughter, a neice,
A cousin and a friend,
I am a partner, A student,
A young girl and a grown woman,
I am confident and scared,
I am terrified and excited,
I am loving and caring,
Yet thoughtful and hopeful.

I am sick and tired,
I am shy and friendly,
Careful and careless,
I am broken yet whole,
I am misunderstood, misguided and mislead,
I am hardworking and determined,
But a little scared on the inside.

I wish on stars and dream my dreams,
I pray to god and cry my tears,
I smile on the outside while i am dying on the inside,
I listen to others who won't listen to me,
I walk on egg shells and i walk on fire,
I believe in passion But not true love,
I love you yet i push you away,
I want you but not so close,
I am everything and nothing all at once,
and yet,
All i want is you to love me.

Happy birthday dear!

The one who is my own,

He taught me the lessons of life,

he told me how to love,

how to give and how to forgive.

loved me without conditions,

and even without reasons.

Who has always made it easier,

Through all thick and thin.

Funnier to laugh with and easier to cry,

Always makes efforts to make me smile.

He has been with me when they all left,

Who made me what I am today.

I’m so glad I found you.

Would have been left forlorn in this world otherwise.

With you it’s fun to be around,

This is to tell you that you are special,

In life and beyond.

You are charming and splendid

You have rocked in whatever you did

You make them go crazy

You are the star and

We all love you.

Thank you for being what you are,

Be it near or far.

I don’t need the world or anything else,

All I need is you by my side till it all ends.

Wish you a beautiful birthday dear. May the Almighty be with you always and you be blessed with loads of love, good luck, success and happiness.

Female foeticide- A blot on the society!

This post refers to the article I just came to read in a renowned national tabloid which says that more than eight millions of girls have been killed over the past decade by their own parents. These statistics agitated me from inside. The country which boasts of its cultural and traditional heritage of worshipping females in the past has now revealed its previously unknown gruesome facet.
By this do the males want to prove the misconception conceived by them of being ‘stronger’ than the female species? Because in my opinion, killing innocent girl infants never accounts for their strength. The females are definitely stronger than males. A woman starts to suffer from the day she is born. They have always been known to ‘give in’ anything and everything when it comes to their family and loved ones. So what does the male species want to prove by this horrible act of female foeticide? Do they think that life would be possible on this planet even with a single gender?
The rate of killing girl child has increased from 5% in 1991 to 10-15% in 2001 in states like Gujarat, Punjab and Haryana. And then they say that our country is heading towards being a developed nation in coming years. I think a nation which has the largest proportion of starving children, highest maternal mortality and such a huge number of female foeticides should first think of getting rid of these evils. A country where even the much educated and so called responsible citizens like doctors are involved in and are promoting this atrocious act only for the sake of money, can only grow economically but not morally. Thanks to the ‘caring and loving’ parents of our society because of whom the girls are not safe even in the wombs of their mothers.
Girls are responsible, matured, understanding and a beautiful creature of God and we have no right to end their lives. Shame on the merciless people who kill them!
Of course there is the law meant to punish those engaged in this practice of sex determination and sex selective abortion - the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act 1994, but I am definitely waiting to watch the day when the parents will begin to understand the worth of a daughter. I shall wait for the day when the mothers will raise their voice against this practice and will save their girl children. Only then a girl can grow into an Indira Gandhi, a Kiran Bedi, a Kalpana Chawala, a PT Usha or an Aishwarya Rai.
Thank you Mom. Thank you Dad. For the love you gave me. I am proud to be your daughter!

Mind your own bussiness!

To be honest, I would say this in a very limpid style. I hate people who have an innate instinct of censuring the whole world. Seriously stating, they are the most worthless or may be I should say the most "vella" people on this planet. They don't have enough courage to deal with life and its pros and cons in a sporting manner. You got failed, blame it on others. You could not make it through something significant, criticize people. You can't look good, denounce the beauty of others. You are jealous of the success of someone, search for his flaws and criticize him. "Never think of the good of anyone in life" is their sole motive apart from not having any significant goals in life. I strongly feel in the fact that "Life is beautiful" and if you can't do good of anyone, you have no right to have mala fide intentions.

I have met a number of such people in my life. Even since the day I joined my college, I have come across many of them. They are the ones who are more happy when something distressing happens to others than when something good happens to themselves. They laugh at the misfortunes of others. Why so? Why don't they mind their own business and why don't they make efforts to make it through their own lives. Angela Monet once said, “Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who could not hear the music.” When we all have been blessed with such a wonderful life, why don't we spend it in a way such that at the end we could be thoroughly satiated and do not remain in thinking evil of the world.

I just pray to God that He gives such people a sense to think and to make them more satisfied with their own lives so that they do not fret over others' successes and happiness.

Make somebody happy today. Mind your own business. ~Ann Landers
